Monon Roots: O+E's New Community on the Monon Trail

For Indianapolis residents, The Monon Trail has become an iconic amenity that brings neighborhoods and people together.   This former railroad track is now a beautifully paved path that is well travelled by foot or by bike.  The Indianapolis section of the Monon Trail spans over 18 miles and passes through some of Indiana’s most viable communities and small towns including Carmel and Broad Ripple.

In early 2021, Onyx+East will be starting their newest community, Monon Roots which will be positioned along-side the Monon Trail at 17th Street in Hillside, just northeast of Downtown Indianapolis.   At Monon Roots, residents will have access to open-space courtyards and easy access to the trail.  In fact, some of the homes in Monon Roots will face the Monon Trail.

Monon Roots residents will enjoy a short walk to Mass Ave. where they’ll be in the heart of Indianapolis’ best shopping, galleries, entertainment and top restaurants.  Featuring six unique floor plans, Monon Roots will offer luxury townhome living with two to four bedrooms, private one- and two-car garages and several homes will include impressive rooftop decks.  Onyx+East’s new Courtyard Series was developed specifically for Monon Roots and will showcase multiple spaces for outdoor living such as a rooftop deck and a private courtyard.  Flexible patio options will allow for an outdoor kitchen, a fire-pit or gardening space.   The Courtyard Series will also give owners maintenance-free benefits while offering the 2-story living of a single family home.

“We are excited to launch Monon Roots and our new Courtyard Series.  These new, 2-story homes and the variety of townhome plans will provide an option for all lifestyles and create a striking streetscape along Alvord and the Monon Trail.” says Kelli Lawrence, CEO of Onyx+East.

Townhomes will start in the $300k’s and the Courtyard Collection will start in the low $400k’s.  Monon Roots is in pre-development stage and site work should begin within the next month.
