Humble Beginnings

We started as a small firm with a big idea: build more than homes—build lifestyles. From day one, we committed ourselves to constructing homes that would offer walkable, bikeable, and connected living.

Introducing Onyx+East

Two years after our founding, we unveiled a new name and identity: Onyx+East. The moniker was inspired by the strength of stone and the direction of the rising sun.

Florida, Here We Come

We launched our first project in the Sunshine State, with 37 townhomes in Tampa's Hyde Park. The project quickly sold out, prompting further expansion into neighboring St. Pete.

Expanding Our Offerings

We unveiled another option for our clients: single-family homes. Though new to our lineup, our single-family homes reflected our core passion: connected and vibrant living inspired by our urban roots.

Planting Roots in the Buckeye State

O+E offices open in Columbus and Cincinnati, marking our expansion into two of Ohio’s key markets. With this move, O+E takes its place among the Midwest’s premier builders.

The Development Manager (DM) is responsible for leading project execution for assigned projects, including property due diligence, design and civil engineering, entitlements, creation of the final development plan, utility approvals, and managing the predevelopment budget and schedule through land closing and start of construction. The DM will work closely with internal teams including operations, construction, sales, and marketing; as well as external consultants including legal, architecture, engineering, and others. The position also assists in the underwriting of potential projects and preparation of materials for investment committee.

This position will be located in Cincinnati and will report to the VP of Land Acquisitions & Development. The DM may also be responsible for leading and managing Development Managers and/or Associates toward company goals.

The Construction Superintendent’s responsibility is to manage and supervise the field construction of assigned projects and to ensure the work schedule, project budget, and O+E quality standards are achieved. In the performance of this function, the Project Superintendent will be accountable for pre-construction and production activities of projects, managing trade partner relationships and work, homeowner communications and experience, along with maintaining overall jobsite cleanliness and safety.
