Onyx+East Expands Operations Team In Florida

Onyx+East has hired Greg Oswald as its new Senior Director of Operations in Tampa. The addition of Oswald to the leadership team will allow Onyx+East to provide needed expertise to further expand its business and operations into the already successful Florida market.

Onyx+East, an award-winning home builder headquartered in Indianapolis, has plans to build five new communities in Florida next year, beginning in the second quarter. With 250 individual homes planned in the Bay Area for 2022, Onyx+East communities will be added to the vibrant EDGE District in St. Petersburg, the prestigious Hyde Park and Historic Seminole Heights in Tampa.

“Greg has an extensive background in operations, management and development of single-family homes throughout the Tampa market,” said Ryan Hammoudeh, Onyx+East Vice President of Operations. “Between his expansive industry knowledge and genuine warmness, Greg will excel at leading our Florida team into the future.”

Onyx+East builds modern and functional homes in desirable, walkable locations—all while providing an exceptional homebuyer experience. With quality construction a top priority, high-end finishes and Smart Home features come standard in every O+E home. Choosing neighborhoods where modern buyers desire to live, Onyx+East has seen past success in the Florida market with communities Six Point Row in Historic Kenwood and Fortune 1895 in Hyde Park, both now sold out.

Oswald brings more than 40 years of senior-level construction management experience to the company, with 35 years in the Tampa market. He has helped grow several national builders’ presence in the Tampa and Central Florida markets, holding roles from Director of Construction to Vice President of Operations. Oswald was instrumental in the design and construction of Estancia, a 1,147-lot master-planned community that was awarded “Community of the Year” three times in Pasco County. Prior to joining the Onyx+East team, Oswald oversaw the construction operations for the Tampa division of Mattamy Homes.

“The opportunity to develop and grow Onyx+East’s presence in the Florida market is exciting,” Oswald said. “Onyx+East’s buyer-centric philosophy, quality of product and unique approach to homebuilding provide a wide range of opportunity for today’s buyers. I am pleased to work with a company with such established vision.”
