Onyx+East Announces 123 New Homes Coming to Alton Place in Hilliard, Ohio

A new O+E community is coming to Hilliard’s Alton Place, blending for-sale homes, retail, and walkable amenities with natural surroundings.

A Walkable, Mixed-Use Community

Alton Place spans 32 acres at 2717 Alton–Darby Creek Road and is envisioned as more than just a neighborhood—it’s a modern, mixed-use community designed for connection and convenience. In addition to thoughtfully crafted homes, the plan includes 30–40 shops and restaurants, offering everything from dining and coffee to healthcare and personal services.

Surrounded by 175 acres of preserved wetlands, streams, lakes, grasslands, and woodlands, the community places nature at its doorstep. Walking trails will connect directly to these preserves, while a neighborhood playground adds another space for families to gather. Every element has been carefully considered to “enhance the pedestrian experience while preserving the area’s natural beauty.”

Homes Designed for the Way You Live

Designed for flexibility, the mix includes 34 townhomes and 89 single-family homes spanning 1,800–3,000 square feet. Every home will feature at least three bedrooms, making them ideal for families, professionals, and anyone looking for modern, flexible living space. Prices will start at $500,000.

Unlike many traditional subdivisions, homes in Alton Place are designed with an urban-inspired streetscape, with garages placed behind the home, front porches closer to the street, and layouts that encourage walkability and community connection.

A Vision for Vibrant Neighborhoods

With the success of Everly in East Walnut Hills, Cincinnati, a mixed-use community of townhomes and single-family homes that has generated strong interest, Onyx+East has proven the demand for thoughtfully designed for-sale living. Building on that experience, this project marks the company’s first for-sale housing community in the Columbus area. Having already made an impact locally with several build-to-rent developments, Onyx+East is now expanding its footprint by creating a place where people can truly plant roots.

What’s Next

Construction is expected to kick off in summer 2026, with homes available in 2027. Some residential phases of Alton Place are already complete, and this next chapter will expand both the housing choices and the future commercial offerings that make the community unique.
